Werfel, LoPinto & Associates is an architectural firm located in Queens County, New York. WLA is equally experienced in the design of new “ground-up” construction and in the adaptive reuse of existing spaces. Projects involving existing structures have included renovations, modernizations, expansions, the successful introduction and integration of ADA compliance standards, re-roofing, window and door replacement, kitchen and elevator renovation, and facade restoration.

Since our founding in 1961, WLA has completed over 1,000 projects in the United States and elsewhere, with a total value of more than $1 billion. To date, in terms of construction costs, our projects have ranged from $30,000 (a ramp addition to comply with ADA criteria) to $88 million (a nine-building new construction on a 12-acre campus).

Because of the relatively small size of our firm, and the closely integrated members of our team, we are able to provide a flexibility unmatched by larger, more bureaucratic firms. We pride ourselves on the speed with which we are able to respond to the changing needs of our clients. Moreover, we are well-versed in the procedures necessary for compliance with the requirements of oversight agencies (particularly the construction authorities in New York City and New York State), and are thus able to move project timelines forward and avoid unwanted delays.

Our experience, particularly with projects commissioned by New York City and New York State, has proven our ability to prepare comprehensive and complete construction documentation, enabling our projects, regardless of their size and scope, to stay on schedule and within budget.
